Vrba, Petr ; Řehák, Filip (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The theme of the diploma thesis "Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of the Brno rivers and their surroundings" is creating an urban proposal in Brno, Zábrdovice, on the eastern waterfront of the Svitava river. The intention is to use the potential of the area and create the possibility of lucrative housing by river with a commercial ground floor, services, leisure time park with a multifunctional playground and easy direct access to the Svitava river. The studied location, has an area of 6.32 hectares andis defined mainly by the Zábrdovická Street and the Svitava River near the former Premonstratensian Monastery, which now serves as a Military Hospital. At present, the location has mainly low-floor industrial buildings with storage and expedition functions. The proposed buildings relate to existing buildings on the east and west banks of the Svitava River. They have the form of four to six storey blocks, which are characteristic for this area. The park connects to the revitalized eastern embankment of the river at the site of a new footbridgethat connects both rive sides and stairs. They provide space formeetings and relaxation, but also serve as a flood control in the event of a water inflow. Along the Svitava River there is a sidewalk with street alleyways and access to the river.

Leitmannová, Barbora ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The Master‘s thesis deals with the processing of the architectural study of the city block in the planned new South Quarter near the Svratka River. The project builds on a pre-diploma project whose aim was to create a territorial urban study for part of this neighbourhood. It was a section between the New Railway Station, Opuštěná Street and the existing Zvonařka Bus Station following the river embankment. The subject of the master‘s thesis is a block from this newly designed urban structure, situated in very close proximity to the river. he project focuses on the block as a whole. It conceptually solves the links between newly designed buildings, individual operations, and functions. It deals with the relationship between streets, river and buildings. Great attention is paid to the maximum use of greenery in the form of extensive and intensive roofs, internal blocks, private gardens in the inner block, as well as private front gardens. The concept seeks to provide a wide range of options and differences. This creates a closed city block that is open and responding to the river with its shape, that consists of free parts. The first / majority are the street lining. It is mostly 5-storey. Corner buildings are raised by one floor, allowing roof intensive gardens to be created. It includes a diverse range of residential units overlooking the river. Housing prevails here. On the ground floor there are a few commercial units and work-and-live. The work-and-live area also includes a private front yard on the street and private raised gardens in the interior. The second part consists of two objects extended over the pedestrian shopping promenade. One of the objects was subject of my detailed architectural study. There are the most luxurious apartments, ground floor showroom and concept store. The third part consists of a lowered 2-storey embankment building, which by its height provides the rest of the block with a beautiful, unimpeded view of the river. It covers the

The basic idea of the apartment building is opening the facade facing the south, offering various apartment floor plans and putting an accent on connection between the river and housing using the system of terraces.

The spa area is located in western Switzerland in Yverdon-les-Bains, which extends along the southern shores of Lake Neuchâtel. The aim was to replace the current Spa complex which capacity and operationally not meet today's requirements and also to increase capacity accommodation in the form of hotel. New spa complex is placed as solitaire in the area between the spa parks which creates fluent transition between them. Spa function is divided into multiple objects that have their own character, but which in their complexity creates one house. These objects "float" on the surface of the water, unites them and divides its operations at the same time.
To Dvur Kralove by train - Transfer Terminal in Dvur Kralove nad Labem
Vítková, Kateřina ; Kristek, Jan (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Design of transfer terminal for Dvůr Králové nad Labem, which will allow the transfer between the train, regional bus and urban public transport and will connect the city to the overall infrastructure of the Czech Republic. It is intended to use the existing industrial spur leading from the railway station to the Teplárna Dvůr Králové nad Labem. In addition to its own transport function, the design of the civic amenities is also envisaged. The new terminal will also serve as a gateway to the city. When designing a conceptual solution, it was a decisive intention to take the terminal as a place where the transport solution goes hand in hand with the public space. Terminal is in this case undeunderstood as an impetus for the development of the territory. Not only it does have to fulfill its transport function perfectly, it should also serve as a public space and connect neighboring non-homogeneous entities. Definition (promenade), filling / interconnection (trees), opening (free area - soft border). The contrast of the covered subtle promenade and the massive masses. The two sides of the triangular parcel are clearly defined by the covered promenade. To the so-called street queue are placed individual functions in the form of units 6x6 m. From the west direction there is the ending of railway inserted to the promenade and an island platform used also for the tram stop, which passes the passage from the inside. The resulting courtyard is formed by a regular tree raster, which creates a clearly defined composite space in a disparate area. This "forest" optically unifies the site and acts as the core of the entire terminal. In perspective freake, the forest while passing through the terminal change, sometimes it creates lines, sometimes surfaces. It does not define clearly the exit nor the entrance, it is open in all directions. Bus platforms are integrated into the raster of trees. While waiting for the bus, one is protected by a vault of trees. Buses leave the orchard and pass through the promenade out of the terminal to 28th October street. Towards the center, Tesco and Christmas decorations, the open space is created, creates a soft border, allows free movement of people in all directions. The vision for the future also involves continuation of the tram line further into the center. The tram would go through the tree trunks out of the terminal around the Christmas decorations. Neighboring Tesco is seen here as an opportunity, it is embedded in the terminal area, its function at the station is more than welcome. The whole traffic of the terminal is one way. All the traffic comes from the west side. Buses pull away to the street of 28 October. Tramway to Benešovo nábřeží. The train ends here.
LABORARTORY BRNO
Šrolová, Andrea ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The theme of my bachelor´s project is a Gallery of architecture, as an Art Laboratory, in the corner of the street Milada Horakova and Koliste. It´s an interesting part of the city Brno, but there is a very complicated traffic situation. I am trying to react on this situation. By lifting up the building above the other housing I set it free in some way. A gallery should be a calm place to have a space to think about the masterpiece. At the same time, we should think about the future. It won´t be the same situation… the lifted gallery allows free using of the space below and the development of surroundings in a wider way.
